Every two years, Young Democrats across New Hampshire elect a new New Hampshire Young Democrats Executive Board! This year, we will be gathering virtually on Saturday, April 26th to elect the seven Executive Board positionsThis will be a Caucus format election and nominations for candidacy will be made from the floor of the Zoom.

 

Description of the rules of the Executive Committee and Executive Roles can be found below:

Officers of the New Hampshire Young Democrats may not be absent for more than two (2) consecutive Executive or State Committee Meetings without an excused absence. Excused absences are at the discretion of the President of
the New Hampshire Young Democrats. Failure to comply with this provision will result in the immediate forfeiture of their position and a special election in accordance with Article III, Section 1 of the Bylaws.


I. PRESIDENT - The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and shall chair both the State Committee and the Executive Committee. The President shall serve as the spokesperson for the New Hampshire Young Democrats and will be a member of the New Hampshire Democratic Party State Committee. The President may sign checks with a value no greater than $100.00 with the approval of the Executive Committee. The President shall neither publicly endorse nor privately support any Democratic candidate engaged in a primary election. The President shall serve on the State Committee of the New
Hampshire Democratic Party.


II. VICE PRESIDENT OF POLITICAL AFFAIRS - The Vice President of Political Affairs shall be the Chief Operating Officer for developing political strategy. The Vice President of Political Affairs shall serve as parliamentarian during meetings of the State Committee and, upon a vacancy of the Presidency, shall serve as Interim President until a special election is convened in accordance with Article III, Section 1 of the Bylaws. The Vice President of Political Affairs shall serve on the State Committee of the Democratic Party.
 

III. VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS - The Vice President of Public Affairs shall be the Chief Information Officer and shall produce and maintain all print, broadcast, and internet media used to communicate with or disseminate information to members, the media, and public in conjunction with the New Hampshire
Democratic Party. The Vice President of Public Affairs shall chair the Communications Committee and shall serve on the State Committee of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.


IV. TREASURER - The Treasurer shall be the Chief Financial Officer, and shall chair the Finance Committee. The Treasurer shall monitor all revenues and expenditures, and make any financial filings or disclosures as required by state or federal law. The Treasurer may not sign checks with a value greater than $100.00 without the approval of the Executive Committee. The Treasurer shall serve on the State Committee of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.
 

V. SECRETARY - The Secretary shall serve as Registrar, shall maintain accurate minutes of all State Committee and Executive Committee meetings, shall schedule the time, place and manner of elections and certify correct records of all elections. The Secretary shall maintain an accurate membership database. The Secretary shall serve on the State Committee of the Democratic Party.
 

VI. NATIONAL COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVES - There shall be two (2) National Committee Representatives, neither of whom shall be of the same gender. The National Committee Representatives shall serve as members of the Executive Committee and shall serve on a standing committee. They shall represent the
New Hampshire Young Democrats at the annual National Young Democrats of America Convention and all other Regional National Young Democrats of America events. In the event that a National Committee Representative is unable to attend the Convention, the President shall appoint an alternative of a gender not considered the same as the gender of the other Representative. The National Committee
Representatives shall serve on the State Committee of the New Hampshire Democratic Party.

Any registered and bonafide New Hampshire Democrat at or under the age of 40 who complies with all election rules and procedures as set by the Parliamentarian is eligible to run and to vote.
